Wake up to the latest night train concepts at InnoTrans 2026

INNOTRANS: The night train renaissance will be highlighted at this year’s show, where several companies will be showcasing concepts for overnight travel with a focus on comfort, privacy and the more efficient use of space.

Tricon will be showing a mock-up of its ALISA ‘differentiated, lightweight and innovative sleeper car concept’, which has been developed with partners including Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs & Energy, Satek, aerospace centre DLR and GETA Interieur.

Berlin-based night train start-up Nox Mobility will be presenting a prototype for private compartments for one or two people. Developer Thibault Constant won one of the first awards at the Railway Influencer Festival at InnoTrans 2024, and now he is returning the the show as an exhibitor.

Night train interior design start-up Luna Rail is to unveil its Hotel Pod and Seat Pod concepts in a real passenger vehicle, showcasing two-level seating and reclining areas as well as private cabins for one or two people.

The Hotel Pod is a private cabin offering space for movement, a wide seating and sleeping area, a large window and an integrated multimedia system. At night the seat moves into a horizontal position to create a bed. The Seat Pod is a smaller but still private cabin. It offers a work area during the day and a bed at night, converting at the touch of a button.

Dynamic sector

‘The fact that several new night train concepts are on display at InnoTrans shows just how dynamically this segment is currently developing’, said show organiser Messe Berlin’s InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz.

‘The night train brings together many issues that are important to our industry: sustainable long-distance mobility, new customer expectations and the question of how to balance comfort and cost-effectiveness. At InnoTrans our trade visitors can not only discuss these ideas but also experience them first hand.’
