The opening of the three aforementioned stations will complete the Circle Line by connecting HarbourFront station to Marina Bay station. Once operational, the line will span 39 kilometres across 33 stations, with 12 interchange stations connecting commuters to all existing MRT lines – the North-South and East-West Lines (NSEWL), North East Line (NEL), Downtown Line (DTL) and Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL).
Travel times will be shortened between areas in the west, such as Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge, with the Central Business District and Marina Bay in the city centre, as well as areas in the east, such as Paya Lebar and Mountbatten.
Each new CCL6 station has been designed for commuter convenience, offering barrier-free access, lifts, escalators, and tactile guidance systems to key touchpoints. They incorporate energy-efficient technologies in their design and operations including smart lighting, motion-sensor controls and hybrid cooling systems.
All architecture and streetscape integration was designed to complement the surrounding urban and heritage character of the area, with all stations coming equipped with bicycle car parks and sheltered linkways.
