The move is consistent with England’s overall timetable shift on Sunday 17 May, and is aimed at improving connectivity for passengers travelling early in the morning or late at night.

TPE has also announced the addition of a new weekday call at Dewsbury on the 08:05 Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly service, which is expected to support both students and commuters travelling into Manchester.

Elsewhere, travellers are set to benefit from additional services for a month in the summer during the Edinburgh Fringe festival, with TPE set to run two extra services per day between Monday 3 August and Friday 4 September.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TPE, said

Although most of our services are unchanged, we encourage customers to take a moment to check any journeys they make regularly.

We’re pleased to be introducing services that give customers more choice, added flexibility, and an improved overall experience when travelling with us.
