Stadler has delivered the first nine of 75 Flirt electric multiple-units ordered by Warszawa area regional train operator Koleje Mazowieckie, with entry into service on routes from the capital to Dęblin and Skierniewice planned for May.

Koleje Mazowieckie initially ordered 50 Flirt EMUs from Stadler in 2024, then added a further 25 units through two follow-up orders in 2025.

‘The delivery of the first ER160 Flirt electric multiple-units is an important milestone for Koleje Mazowieckie’, said President of the operator’s management board Robert Stępień. ‘We are starting the largest contract in the company’s history, which includes the delivery of 75 modern trains.’

Production in Siedlce

The five-car trains built at Stadler Polska’s plant in Siedlce can carry 582 passengers, have a maximum speed of 160 km/h and are fitted with ETCS Level 2.

The factory has already delivered 71 Flirts to Koleje Mazowieckie in previous orders, with the Polish arm of the Swiss manufacturer describing the current contracts as record-breaking in both scale and production pace.

‘Delivering the first nine trains within the short timeframe of 22 months since the contract was signed is a major challenge, but also a source of great pride’, said Radosław Banach, CEO of Stadler Polska. ‘We are operating at full capacity, with one vehicle rolling off the production line every week. Our production halls are currently dominated by the white, yellow and green trains for Koleje Mazowieckie, 53 of which we will deliver this year alone.’

‘For more than 20 years, we have been developing Koleje Mazowieckie. During this time, the company has become one of the leading railway operators in Poland’, said Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, which includes Warszawa and the wider region. ‘These trains are modern and safe, and they will greatly improve travel comfort for passengers.’
