Sound Transit will begin simulated service on the Link 2 Line from Saturday 14 February, marking the final phase of testing ahead of the opening of the Crosslake Connection.

Passengers will be able to ride test trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood City Center stations. Service hours on the existing 2 Line between Redmond and South Bellevue will also be extended until midnight during this period.

Two-car 2 Line trains will operate alongside the standard four-car 1 Line trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood. During weekday peak periods, trains will arrive every four minutes, while daytime service will operate at five-minute intervals.

The additional 2 Line trains will double the number of trains passing through the downtown Seattle transit tunnel, increasing capacity along the busiest section of the Link system. Passengers travelling on 2 Line trains from Lynnwood will need to disembark at International District/Chinatown Station.

The Crosslake Connection is scheduled to open on 28 March 2026, crossing Lake Washington and operating between Lynwood and Redmond.
