A decade after direct trains stopped running, Sofia-Thessaloniki passenger services are set to return “next year”, Bulgarian minister Grozdan Karadjov said, as Bulgaria, Greece and Romania line up a joint bid for EU funding to accelerate the Black Sea–Aegean TEN-T corridor and its missing cross-border links.
