INDIA: Delhi Metro Rail Corp and industrial group BEML have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on metro projects in India and abroad.
The companies plan to identify opportunities, bid for work and undertake projects by combining BEML’s rolling stock manufacturing capabilities with DMRC’s experience in metro line development and operations.
DMRC Managing Director Dr Vikas Kumar said the MoU signed on April 8 represents a historic collaboration between two leading Indian entities, with the potential to significantly enhance urban transport in India and abroad.
He also highlighted the importance of developing domestic traction systems and tunnel boring machines.
