Hitachi Rail has announced receipt of a significant new contract to supply advanced technologies for the Sydney Metro West project, an infrastructure plan which aims to connect Greater Parramatta to the Sydney Central Business District (CBD) via a new 24-kilometre underground metro line.
Hitachi Rail will provide all Central Control Systems (CCS) and Integrated Communications (iCOM) for the project, acting as subcontractor for the Metro Trains West Consortium—a joint venture between MTR Corporation and CRRC Corporation Limited.
