The first high-speed train manufactured in Turkiye reached 225 km/h during dynamic testing, announced Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. According to the official, the performance was achieved on the second day of dynamic braking tests, one of the stages considered critical in the train’s validation process.
The train was built by TÜRASAŞ using resources described by Turkiye authorities as local and national, and after production was completed, it was introduced into the testing program on the railway network.
225 km/h on the second day of testing
Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that reaching a speed of 225 km/h as early as the second day of dynamic braking tests represents a significant achievement for the Turkish railway industry.
According to him, the train passed one of the most important stages of the testing program in a short period, and this demonstrates the level achieved by Turkiye engineering and industrial execution in the field of high-speed rolling stock.
Tests continue on the Mithatpaşa–Bilecik line
The Turkish official noted that dynamic testing is currently ongoing on the Mithatpaşa–Bilecik line. Following this stage, the train is set to undergo further testing phases on the rest of the country’s high-speed lines.
Authorities say that, once all tests are complete, the train will enter service on Turkiye’s high-speed network with a commercial speed of 225 km/h.
A symbolic moment for the Turkish railway industry
Ankara is presenting the project as a milestone for local railway technology, emphasizing that this is Turkiye’s first high-speed train built by the domestic industry.
The message conveyed by the authorities is that the performance achieved in this early phase of testing demonstrates the progress made by the Turkiye industry in developing modern trains for high-speed services.
