The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on May 11 announced a $28.5 million Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) through its Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented (TOD) Planning to invest in making mass transit “more family friendly and affordable.”

The Pilot Program, which looks to partner with communities interested in proposals that “advance safety, innovation and making commuting easier for families,” helps support FTA’s mission of “improving America’s communities through public transportation by providing funding to local communities to integrate land use and transportation planning with a new fixed-guideway or core-capacity transit capital investment,” according to the agency.
