Construction work is underway on the new Brussels Airport Tram line that will provide a direct public transport connection between Brussels Airport and the Belgian capital.
The 12‑kilometre tram route will link Brussels‑North railway station with Brussels Airport in Zaventem. The line is expected to allow passengers to travel between the city and the airport in about 30 minutes.

Construction is being rolled out in phases. The first phase focuses on preliminary works along Da Vincilaan in Zaventem, including upgrades to utilities and adjustments to existing road infrastructure.
In addition to the tram works, construction has also begun on the F201 cycle route, a future cycling highway that will run largely alongside the tram corridor and connect Brussels Airport with central Brussels.
The tram is scheduled to become operational by 2031 or 2032, subject to approval of subsequent construction phases. Once complete, it is expected to significantly improve access between Brussels, Brussels Airport and nearby business districts, boosting links between key economic hubs in the region.
