Each new four-car, bi-mode train unit will complement the existing fleet of 54 Régiolis vehicles operating on the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region’s rail network. They will be capable of carrying up to 208 passengers and aim to provide greater passenger comfort with the inclusion of large windows, indirect LED interior lighting, reading lights and power sockets.
With the supply of these 10 new units, CAF has now been commissioned to produce almost 50 vehicles, with new orders stemming from a 2021 agreement with Alstom to acquire the Reichshoffen industrial plant in Alsace, as well as assume responsibility for developing the extensions of this regional train platform for SNCF.
