Spain’s train drivers’ union SEMAF has called a general railway strike in response to a series of fatal accidents this week, accusing authorities of allowing an “unacceptable deterioration” in rail safety. The union has not yet set a date for the action, describing it as a warning intended to force binding safety commitments.
