CRRC has celebrated the completion of Hangzhou Metro’s first fully automated metro train, which rolled off the production line last month.
Built to Hangzhou’s proprietary AH-type specification; the train was developed by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., and will enter service on Hangzhou Metro Line 12 with a maximum operating speed of 100 km/h.

The train automates the full operational cycle, including wake-up, sleep, self-diagnosis, depot entry and exit, mainline operation, station stopping and door operation, and train washing.
On-board intelligent systems include both active and passive obstacle detection and running gear safety monitoring, with all critical circuits and subsystems adopting redundant design in an effort to enhance operational safety.
The train also utilises self-healing capabilities, including automatic subsystem reset and remote control, ensuring high availability under abnormal conditions.
Powered by a permanent magnet traction system, the train aims to deliver an overall energy saving of more than 20%, and features an air conditioning system that utilises antibacterial and antiviral purification, combined with intelligent airflow distribution technology. Additionally, high-seal electric plug doors, sound-insulating pads, and high-performance sound insulation materials are applied to further reduce vibration and noise.
