The U.S. Army Transportation Command (ARTRANS) has signed a contract with Geoforce, through its subsidiary AssetLink Global, for the delivery of railcar monitoring equipment.

AssetLink Global will provide technology for real-time visibility of railcars owned by the Department of the Army, offering remote tracking and monitoring of railcars through advanced capabilities, including load and impact detection sensors.

Railcar monitoring technologies developed by Geoforce and AssetLink have also recently been deployed by one of North America’s largest companies specializing in railcar manufacturing, leasing, and management, as well as by a major global company in the industrial minerals sector.

These implementations utilize a variety of tracking devices and sensors for impact, temperature, door access, and other parameters. The Department of Defense contract for railcars adds to a growing momentum in the rail sector. Together, these deployments position Geoforce to serve a larger share of the rail market through a unique combination of secure communications, intelligent sensor integration, and military-grade reliability.

Geoforce Acquired AssetLink Global

The agreement follows Geoforce’s acquisition of AssetLink Global in January 2026. Geoforce is a pioneer in asset tracking and the integration of secure sensors via satellite and cellular networks. The combined entity brings together Geoforce’s cloud software platform and rugged industrial equipment with AssetLink’s deep expertise in sensor and satellite communications applications, creating one of the most comprehensive IoT solutions available for field-centric industries, including rail, defense, maritime, cold chain, and oil and gas.

“AssetLink Global has supported military and defense operations for years, and this contract reflects the trust our customers have in our team and technology. Our merger with Geoforce is still relatively recent, but it is already delivering results, combining AssetLink’s hardware and sensor capabilities with Geoforce’s expertise in challenging industrial markets to deliver greater value across all the industries we serve,” said David J. Goldstein, senior vice president and general manager of Geoforce AssetLink.
