The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) at its recent conference and exhibition in Minneapolis formally installed Justin Broyles, President and CEO of R.J. Corman, as its Board Chair, succeeding Matt Walsh, Executive Vice President of Global Corporate Development at Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services Inc. Walsh served asChair for three years and fulfilled his term.
The Association’s Executive Committee also appointed Kristen Bevil, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of Pinsly Railroad, as Vice Chair the Board, the role Broyles held previously. Bevil has served on ASLRRA’s Board since 2019.

“Matt’s strategic guidance and oversight has been invaluable, and particularly appreciated as he stepped up to fill the role of Chairman sooner than planned,” ASLRRA President Chuck Baker said. “Under his leadership, our organization has continued to deliver exceptional value to its members, and advanced issues of importance to our members in the legal, regulatory, and legislative areas. We are looking forward to working with Justin Broyles—an experienced, long-standing board member—as he steps into the Chairmanship.”
Matt Walsh in 2023 succeeded Stefan Loeb, who stepped down from the role. Loeb, the former Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Watco—a transportation and supply chain services company owning and operating a network of short lines, terminals and ports—joined Class I Norfolk Southern on April 2, 2023, as Vice President First and Final Mile Markets.
Justin Broyles earlier this month was selected by Railway Age readers as one of 15 “Most Influential Leaders” for 2026.
