CRRC Dalian Co., Ltd. has delivered a new-energy shunting locomotive to Jinggu Railway at the Beijing Jingping Comprehensive Logistics Hub.
The FXN3B is the first hybrid shunting locomotive to be introduced to an operator in Beijing that is not part of China Railway.

The FXN3B forms part of a newer generation of rail transit equipment designed to meet operational requirements while supporting environmental objectives. The locomotive combines battery technology with a high-efficiency motor system. This configuration reduces emissions and noise when compared with conventional diesel-powered shunting locomotives. It is also intended to lower energy use and reduce maintenance and operating costs over its service life.
The unit replaces an older diesel locomotive previously in service with Jinggu Railway. Its introduction aligns with broader equipment renewal initiatives aimed at modernising rail infrastructure and improving environmental performance.

According to CRRC, the deployment of the FXN3B is expected to serve as a reference point for other non-state railway operators in Beijing considering similar upgrades. It may also provide an example for wider adoption of hybrid technology across existing rail systems in China.
