RailTech.com will be joining forces with global rail publication Railway Gazette International, bringing the titles together under an expanded Railway Gazette International in the next few weeks. “Now more than ever, the rail sector across the world needs credible, authoritative and independent coverage. And with a larger team, we look forward to delivering exactly that”, says Railway Gazette International’s Executive Editor Nick Kingsley.
In January, we published an article about our parent company, the Netherlands-based ProMedia Group, acquiring a series of UK-based transport titles. That included Railway Gazette International, a leading global publication with roots dating back to 1835.
Now, we can confirm that RailTech.com will be joining forces with our new UK colleagues, bringing our titles together under an expanded Railway Gazette International. Keeping on board the experienced rail editors of both publishers, the new combined team will consist of seven editors, strengthened by freelance contributors from around the world.
“We believe this combination will strengthen the coverage we can offer under the Railway Gazette International brand, especially in areas like digitalisation and European policy”, says Railway Gazette International’s Executive Editor Nick Kingsley. “Now more than ever, the rail sector across the world needs credible, authoritative and independent coverage. And with a larger team behind us, we look forward to delivering exactly that.”
In practical terms, the two titles will be integrated over the coming weeks, with Railway Gazette moving to a new website template. Visitors to railtech.com will be redirected to railwaygazette.com, and the RailTech article archive will be moved as well. All current RailTech subscribers will be converted to a Railway Gazette International subscription. The name RailTech will continue to exist through our events, such as RailTech Europe.
For more than a decade, RailTech.com has covered the European rail sector with news, in-depth stories and events. We now look forward to the next chapter and to serving our readers and the rail sector even better.
