Swedish trains can now roll into Finland for maintenance with VR Fleetcare’s transfer bogies

With newly developed transfer bogies, train can now travel from Sweden to the different track gauge of Finland by rail. On January 9, 2026, an SJ X40 electric double-decker train arrived this way in Oulu from Haparanda-Tornio for maintenance, using innovative transfer bogies developed by VR FleetCare. The new solution eliminates the need for truck transfers, reduces emissions, and streams maintenance logistics.
