CAF has been awarded a contract to supply 30 commuter units to JSC “Srbijavoz”, the Serbian national railway company.
The contract, which has been valued at more than 300 million EUR, will also see CAF provide full maintenance for the units across a two year period.

All units will enter service on the BG Voz suburban network in Belgrade, marking CAF’s second Serbian railway contract following a 2009 award for the design and manufacture of 30 trams for the capital – all of which are now in revenue service.
Based on CAF’s Civity platform; the units will all be powered electrically, and be composed of three cars each with a capacity of 204 seated passengers (546 total). The interior layout, which features six multi-purpose areas with space for up to 18 bicycles, has been developed specifically to meet requirements set out by JSC “Srbijavoz”.
The modular trains will be capable of operating at speeds of up to 120km/h, and will be constructed from lightweight aluminium.
Undergoing a new extension as part of the Belgrade Urban Transport Master Plan; the BG Voz network features 35 stations and provides services across four main lines and three complimentary lines, connecting the main intermodal stations where other means of public transport in the city operate, such as trams, buses and trolleybuses.
