Colas Rail UK’s Urban division has officially begun work on the second phase of Coventry’s Very Light Rail (CVLR) programme, which aims to deliver an 800-metre twin-track connection between Coventry Station and Coventry University Technology Park.

Full approval was granted by Coventry City Council in January, and will see Colas Rail drive what is states will be a ‘streamlined, construction-led approach that accelerates delivery, reduces risk and keeps disruption to a minimum for local stakeholders’.

With extensive surveys now complete and procurement of track slabs underway; the scheme is now officially moving towards construction.
