Stadler and ebblo Western Europe (formerly Trapeze DACH) have announced a new cooperation that will see both companies work together on the technical and system integration of display hardware and operations control systems to create digital passenger information solutions for public transport.
The two companies have entered into a non-exclusive cooperation to develop TFT displays, as well as passenger information systems.

As part of the agreement; Stadler’s displays can be integrated into ebblo’s ‘Intermodal Transport Control Systems’ (ITCS), which monitor vehicles in real time and enable communication between vehicles and control centres, alongside other crucial functions.
Albrecht Teich, Managing Director of Stadler Signalling Germany, said:
We are very pleased about the strategic cooperation with ebblo.
Together, we are combining our strengths to create future-ready passenger information solutions that benefit both transport operators and passengers alike.
Both companies will utilise their own expertise in order to form an integrated overall system, resulting in an integrated infrastructure designed to meet current and future operational and information requirements.
Stadler Signalling’s Passenger Information division handles the development and manufacturing of the MOFIS Passenger Information Monitor (PIM) in Braunschweig, Germany, a system which is specifically designed for outdoor use and for operation under all environmental conditions, including direct sunlight.
The PIM is based on TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) technology, and represents an advancement of traditional LCD screens. Railway operators predominantly use these displays to provide passenger information, as well as broadcast their own content.
Meanwhile, the ebblo brand aims to represent solutions for modern, connected and passenger-oriented mobility. The company specialises in operations control systems, passenger information, onboard systems and business intelligence; focusing on new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication and cloud-based architectures.
The two companies will, ultimately, combine both hardware and software solutions in order to create an integrated and future-proof solution for public transport. The cooperation will seek to address public transport providers in scheduled and on-demand services, with key attention paid to bus and tram operators.
Marcel Velten, CEO of ebblo Western Europe, said:
With Stadler, we are gaining a partner that ideally complements our portfolio. Through this cooperation, we are expanding our offering to include high-performance passenger information displays.
This will enable us to support our customers even more comprehensively in the future — from reliable operations management to a modern, consistent passenger information system.
