A phased opening will allow customers to utilise rapid transit services along Eglinton Avenue whilst the TTC and Metrolinx carry out fine-tune operations during live-service conditions.

As a result; riders may notice service adjustments as real-world operating conditions emerge with public use. The TTC has stated it will continue sharing key updates as milestones are achieved, with an announcement regarding full service expected once all partners are confidence in the line’s performance.

During the introductory service phase; Line 5 service will operate from 05:30 to 23:00 Mon-Sat and 7:30 to 23:00 on Sundays, arriving approximately every four minutes during the busiest periods, and every six to eight minutes at other times.

Between the hours of 22:00 and 01:00, Line 5 shuttle buses will operate every 10 minutes, serving on‑street LRT stops along the Eglinton corridor. The TTC’s Blue Night Network will operate from 01:00 until the scheduled start of daily train service.

Once full service is initiated, trains are expected to run until 01:30 daily, with end‑to‑end travel times of approximately 50–55 minutes. A comparable trip by bus can take up to 105 minutes.

If any disruptions arise during the introductory period, the TTC has stated that it will deploy shuttle buses in order to keep customers moving.

Line 5 Eglinton includes 25 stations and stops between Mount Dennis (Weston Road) and Kennedy Station, and will connect with Lines 1 and 2, multiple TTC bus routes, and two GO Transit lines.

The first day of service (Sunday 08 February) on Line 5 Eglinton will be free of charge, with the first westbound trains set to depart from Kennedy Station starting at 07:30, and the first eastbound services from Mount Dennis Station from 07:37.
